Meet Our Staff:

 

Steve Collins has over 10 years of personal training experience beginning in the early 1990's while working for the Marshall University Department of Education and Human Services in the Human Performance Lab. He began training individuals in the Mercer County area when he returned to Princeton, WV in 1996. He has helped countless people reach their fitness goals--from general fitness and weight loss to highly specific sports performance training. Steven has worked with youth, seniors, athletes as well as local teams. Certified by AFAA and the Body Training Systems, Steve believes a supportive client-trainer relationship is as important as technical expertise in a trainer.
William "Bill" Jessee has more than one year of experience as personal fitness trainer and coach. His interest in physical fitness and weight training began 19 years ago while a student-athlete at Princeton Senior High School and continued while studying at Bluefield State College. Bill is certified by AFPA and specializes in sports specific training, general fitness and weight training.
Mary Collins is a Registered Nurse, licensed in both WV and VA. Her more than seven years of experience in personal training and fitness instruction is complemented with 4 years of work in the specialized field of post-injury rehabilitation. A mother of 3, Mary is most interested and versed in pre- and post-partum fitness, with expertise in general fitness, weight loss, post-injury rehab fitness and special populations. Frank Bacho has more than four years of experience in the fitness industry. He is certified through Body Training Systems as a Body Pump Instructor and is an indoor cycling instructor, with training through Reebok University. He is currently studying to complete his Personal Trainer certification through AFAA.

 

 

Shawn Harris Attended Mountain State University; he started weight training in 1999 and since has become certified in personal training through Aerobic and Fitness Association of America, AFAA. Shawn is involved in sports specific training body building weight loss programs, and progressive resistance training.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Paula Lambert Akers received a M.S. in Exercise Physiology from the WVU School of Medicine, where coursework emphasized cardiac rehabilitation, older adult fitness and diabetes management. She has worked in physical therapy departments, taught water exercise classes, and worked in patient and adult education in the Princeton WV area. Paula believes a personalized fitness plan is a vital tool in improving overall health. In addition to general fitness, she enjoys working with clients on weight management, post rehab fitness, stress reduction, disease management and women's health issues. Paula was among the first individuals to be ACSM Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist (R) certified. She is also ACSM Health/Fitness Instructor (R) certified.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Amy Bowling has been a Licensed Massage Therapist for 2 and a half years. Received training at Clarksburg Beauty Academy School of Massage Therapy. Amy is currently studying Physical Therapy at Mountain State University and graduates in May 2007. Amy specializes in neck pain, low back pain, Hot-Stone Therapy and sports massage.

 

 

 

 

 

KD Flanigan is a Certified Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Instructor. She has more than six years of experience in personal training, fitness instruction, and dance instruction. She has a degree from Appalachian School of Law and is currently studying for the WV Bar Examination. Kd has expertise in general fitness, weight loss, endurance, flexibility, and youth fitness training. She is
also certified in Personal Training, Group Exercise, and Body Pump through FitOur, AFAA, and Body Pump.
